My father and his family owned and operated Green Run Lodge on Assateague Island from its beginning in 1936 to when the Government took it over in the earl 60's. I was born in 1943, so I caught the years after 1949. Some really wild and extremely interesting stories I heard.Experienced a lot also. The family ran Jackson's Casino during the summers and me, my brother and four cousins lived with my aunt and the caretaker --Pork Chops-- at the Lodge. Unbelievable freedom and kid fun all summer long. Some of the tales that I remember come from a different era . Probably never again anywhere. There was nine miles of ocean front. We could play all day and never see the same thing twice. I was fascinated by the large herds of horses and cattle along the surf.We would walk right thru em. Many in the surf to get relief from the flies. The fox at night. The blimp that lifted our car out of quicksand, caught at extreme high tide on sand dunes with the cattle and horses-- knee deep water all the way over to the next dune, etc. Raised the flag to get POPEYE to bring the ferry over. If any more interest 760-685-3690

I will be getting an MEd. precisely so I can try and get a job in Chincoteague. I want to live there, to be a life-long resident for the decades ahead, to offer my skills to the island's children, and be an active member of the community.I fell in love with the island some three years ago; this fall, I start taking education courses. Until I finish the degree, though, I will continue to be a Chincoteague visitor.

I hear in one comment about a wooden bridge? I do not beleive that was to the wild pony island then though. I remeber being 12 yrs old, the first time i saw the island and ponies. . We were camped along the shore on chincoteague. It was early morn and my dad yelled to me come se the wild ponies running along the beach of assateague. YOu were not allowed on the island then. Oh, but what a thrill for a 12 yr. old horse crazy girl. I have dreamed often about particpating in the round-up and owning one of the ponies. I hope to have a farm here this yr. and hopefully participate or at least own one. I took my oldest daughter( horse crazy too!) and my youngest son in 2003 or 2004 to see them in april of that yr. They were thrilled as i was to get up close and personel. I have a nice close up of one of the ponies, which my daughter was sure was going to kick me,lol. But mom wasn't as close as she believed mom was, thanks to telephoto and mom does have a brain, lol. I hope to be there in person again soon. Please send me any info. horse crazy formerly fron new york state, now kentucky, L. Howe

In the70's and 80's I visited Chincoteague and what a nice and quaint village it was. I hope the visitors of today take the time out to appreciate the history and real natural beauty that is set before them. The residents at that time was few, but some of the nicest people I have ever met. Things had not gotten so commercialized at that time and one could really feel like that had escaped to another world without alot of city noise. I trust that the flavor of a "spot in the road" will never leave as this spot is one of my favorite spots that I have ever visited...

I spent most of my summers as a child in Chincoteaque, the 60's-70's. My brothers and I would ride our bikes around town looking for the best crabbing and fishing spots. You could crab from almost any pier. We would ride the waves on rubber rafts. It was the best rafting and body surfing ever. The bridge taking you over to the beach was all wood in the 60's- 70's and you could hear every car go over it day or night. The ponies were also allowed on the beach and sometimes the herds would run down the beach and jump right in the surf right next to you - they just wanted to get cooled off and get rid of the horseflies. It was a magical place and still is. I hope one day to bring my three kids to chincoteaque for vacation.

My dad bought me a chincoteague pony in 1954, I think. My parents are both gone now, so coming back here with my grandchildren was very special. We don't live that far away, but it was still a treat. When we bought a pony it was in the old days when you picked out the one you wanted and went in the coral and lassoed it yourself. My little filly tried to climb a tree to get away. My poor dad really had to wrestle her. She was little but very lively. I wish I knew how much he paid for her. Nothing like the prices of today. I hope my grandchildren will return with their children and share the experience.

My family and I were first introduced to Chincoteague through the charming family film "Misty" made by Twentieth Century Fox (Distributed by Sterling Entertainment Group). The ponies, beaches, and surrounding landscape all look beautiful. We would love to visit someday.

My family vacationed at Fisherman's Cove every summer from 1960 thru 1971 and we've had many return trips over the years. Dad originally went for the flounder fishing, but we returned each year for friendship. The islanders were good people, the best. Great scenery and wildlife, wonderful history and food, excellent beaches and endless boyhood adventures, but it was the people that brought us back year after year. I miss them, the Andrews, Judsons, Bebees ...

When I first started coming to the island (1961), my parents rented a home on Main St. They paid $75.00/week, imagine that ! And then my dad use to go fishing and then sell the fish to the fish market there in town, and make up all the money he had spent on his vacation rental. Mom said they thought about buying a home down on Main St. back then, but thought it was to expensive. $4,000.00 for a Main St. waterview home. Wow !!!!

When I was a child we raised horses on the Pacific coast and it was always my dream to see the horses on Assateague Island on the Atlantic coast. Now, in my 50's we finally made it. Only was able to stay two days but I could have stayed a lifetime. The island was so beautiful, the people so friendly and the dusk tour with Spider's outfits around the islands was totally awesome. It is well worth the trip and I am planning to go again.

Was stationed at the air base back in 57-58. Flew many hours in the back of a JD towing targets for the fleet to shoot at. Have fond memories of Chinco, and the surrounding area. Held a VU-4 reunion a few years ago. Not many showed up, but we were able to get on base, thanks to one of the former members of our old squadron. Proved one thing, guess you can never go back and expect to find things the way that they were. Memories will alway be with me, no one can take them away. My husband and I went to Chincoteague last year. While there, we went to the Seafood Festival. We had a wonderful time. The food was great. We stayed with friends. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. I lived there as a child and still have relatives there. Needless to say, the island has changed tremendously. At 42 years of age, it has been my lifelong dream to visit Chincoteague and watch Pony Penning Days. My wife and I were both born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Before marriage, while living in nearby Pocomoke, MD where I had taken a job, I had visited the island several times. Then, when my soon-to-be wife visited me in Pocomoke, I took her to Chincoteague. We both fell in love with it, and, in fact, it turned out to be our first home together. To this day, over a dozen years later, it is still one of our fondest memories. This year, I'm beginning to feel like it's about time for a

Dear Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, Before leaving RI for a vacation to Williams burg, VA, one of the things I did was spend time at a local bookstore doing research about other attractions in VA. I don't need theme parks to have fun even though my husband & I did the historic tri-angle of Jamsetown, Williamsburg and Yorktown, were were great and not your average theme park. What I found, too, were the wild ponies of Chincoteague and Assateague but did not know which to choose. I ended up calling theinformation phone number of the Chincoteague ponies and was given excellent advice on the who, what, where's and why's of your beautiful ponies. My husband and I were so fortunate to see these beatiful ponies and actually got to see a young foal that looked to be no more than a week or two. Thank you for the highlight of our vacation and the wonderful job you do taking care of the ponies! Sincerely, Debbie and Ron Shusterman North Kingstown, RI

My family just returned from our Pony Swim/Auction holiday on the islands. Yours is a beautiful island town! We especially loved swimming in the Ocean and the activities surrounding the Pony Penning week. What really made it special for me are the friendly people who live and work there. Michael from the Purple Pony, Irena from Ledo's Pizza, the head Librarian at the library (I don't remember her name), to name just a few, went above and beyond their normal duties to make us feel welcome. Thank you Chincoteague, we will return soon! (and perhaps even buy one of the Pony's then!).

My husband and I have been coming to Chincoteague almost every year for the past 12 or 13 years, and it is our home away from home. We love the ocean, and the pristine beach on Assateague is a joy. We are avid cyclists, although I do not like climbing hill, so these two beautiful islands are perfect for me. We ride the trails of Assateague every day when we visit, and also take many side trips along the roads of Chincoteague. We delight in seeing new small businesses open and are sad to see others that have clsed over the years, but we look forward to the constant presence of the water, breezes, wildlife and beautiful sunsets of our second home. We will be bringing our 9 year old grandsons this year, and can't wait to share this all with them. We consider the DelMarVa Peninsula a wonderland, and Chincoteague its crown jewel!

I have been coming to Chincoteague Isl. to visit my dear friend for years now, and it is the most beautiful place on earth. The untamed ocean is breath-taking. The history of the pony swim is awesome. The wildlife is soothing...the people are so kind. I will return again this year! I can't wait for the Fireman's Carnival! I am taking my grandchildren to the Pony Centre (what fun that will be) and we are going on Capt. Barry's cruise. Perfect.

My father, Harvey Richard Reynolds, was born on Chincoteague Island along with his 8 brothers and sisters. His parents were Risdon J. Reynolds and Abigail Estelle Jester Reynolds. I have some distant cousins who still reside on the Island but haven't visited the Eastern Shore in a long time. My Dad and Mom met and married in Oyster VA (near Cape Charles VA)- Mom was originally from Willis Wharf and Hog Island. Her name was Helen Doughty Reynolds Osborn. Both my folks are deceased but a lot of family still lives in/around the Cape Charles and Exmore areas. I have great memories of growing up there. Oddly enough I now live in the Mojave Desert about halfway between Los Angeles CA and Las Vegas, NV.

I grew up on Chincoteague Island, it will always be my home. I'm 29 years old now and the last time I seen the island I was 10. I plan to visit in the near future, but this time with my daughter, who is looking forward to seeing the beautiful island through her own eyes and not my memory. I can't wait to enjoy all of the wonderful things about the island that I've missed so dearly, and to see the islander's smiling faces once more.

Our trip to the island was enjoyable. We stayed at the Refuge and enjoyed their great hospitality and friendliness. Great food at the restuarants and the ice cream parlor had so many wonderful choices. We were hoping to get a little closer glimpse of the ponies but still enjoyed them from a distance. We hope the city fathers keep the quaint atmosphere of this great beach town!!

Recently we had the opportunity to stay at the Spinnaker and were extremely pleased with everything; the rental, the flowers, the cake, Kelly, our contact person, cut firewood, and I could go on and on. Everyone we met in Chincoteague and Assateague was friendly and helpful. Even the weather contributed to our visit.

You have a very informative website here; one that has obviousely taken alot of time and effort to put together. Although we've driven through the Eastern Shore going from Norfolk to Salisbury, MD; we've always wanted but never had the time to stop. This year though, we'll definitely be seeing you! Thanks for having such a great site.

My wife and I have been visiting Chincoteague for the last 11 years. Last December was the first time we were there for the Christmas parade. This December was our second time, and I thinl it will be an annual evant from now on. As enjoyable as Chincoteague is during the summer, winter offers unique opportunities as well. Quiet walks on the beach and nature trails, driving the loop just before dusk are just two of the pleasures. Seeing all the migrating Snow Geese and Great Blue Herons was indescribable. It looks like my wife and I will be enjoying Chincoteague in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

My first visit to the island was with the GirlScouts when i was 14....Boy that was long ago! There is no other place i would rather be than Chincoteague! I think i might have missed 2 years to the island out of 31. We have alot of friends there. My youngest son wants to move to Chincoteague because he misses all his friends and the Skatepark not to mention LFSC. We always have a wonderful time and it's because of the friends we have on the island! I'm not called a Tourist by Tyler Howard anymore(I love that kid) We'll be back again in July and i can't wait to get there! We have been staying in places that are managed by a wonderful woman named Shelia for as long as i can remember. We saw alot of changes over the years! I like to look at all the pictures i took 20+ years ago of all the big fishing boats lined up by the bridge....but that is a thing of the past now! You can change the Island but you will never change the People who live there!!

We have visted Chincoteague Island several times over the past five years or so, both over the summer months and again in the fall. I don't know which time of year is more beautiful! Assateague Island, with its' pristine beach is beautiful; the ponies are a delight to observe; your town is quaint right down to the 'old time' theater. We never miss the chance to stop and say 'hi' to Capt. Bob and purchase some of his treasures. What a delightful person who has some great stories to share! Also, can't forget the best meals in town served at the Island Family restaurant. Stopped by for dinner one night after noticing all the cars with VA plates; figured if the 'locals' eat there that's good advertising! Sorry to see the Landmark Plaza sold out and Chincoteague Inn followed suit. Don't let commercialization take over your lovely Island - it will lose its' charm!! There are enough condos out there. Our only regret--we didn't visit your beautiful island many years earlier!

Although my stay was only 3 days, I totally enjoyed the Island. We explored many things and had wild adorable Bambi like deer on or near where we stayed at Spinnaker. We had a wonderful time at the Chili Festival and enjoyed extremely wonderful seafood. I will visit again. Thank you for your wonderful peaceful Island and thanks to all who helped us along the way. I attended a wedding near by and stayed at The Holiday Cottages in Chincoteaque. I can't say enough about what a lovely place it is. The unique shops and restaurants are absolutely marvelous, the lack of fast food places is a bonus to the island, please do all you can to keep it that way. The only clue that we were not in paradise was The Hampton Inn, I was very sorry to see it there, and I hope it's not a sign of the future. This was the most enjoyable time I can remember. We are planning to come back again next year Thank You for you hospitality. Nancy & Krissie

i took my family back to the island at the end of august. My horse crazy daughter had a great time. we took a boat ride to look for ponies, and we also saw them on the marsh on the drive to the beach. we had some great crabcakes at CaptainsZacks, and Eta's channel side restaurant. my daughter took a riding lesson at the chincoteague pony center, and stayed for their pony show. we also check on the ponies that were still at the fair grounds...great suprize to see my "favorite" palimino-pinto mom and son still together... we also enjoyed our visit to the "DECOY DECOY DECOY" shop on main street, what wonderful works of art on display. on our drive home we also visited the northern part of asseteague island on the Maryland side. As we entered the island state park, we were greeted by a small herd of wild ponies, right at the car window.. my daughter thought she died ans went to pony heaven! next time we'll spend more time on both, the maryland end to camp and the cincoteague va end to relax...

Thanks to Mr. Daisy at his decoy shop on ridge road, for all the great tips on how to and where to see the swim. it was a thrill of a life time for my daughter and her friend... the stay at the Hampton Inn was great also. i think we're hooked, and will return in the future.

I came across your website after linking from an article about the pony swim on comcast.net. After looking through your whole website I wanted you know I love your little town and all it offers. Even without the pony swim, it sounds like a perfect place and is somewhere I would love to bring my family to visit someday. The seashore, nature and history it offers is exactly what I love. I've added you to my 'favorites', and will seriously consider vacationing there sometime in the future. Also, your website is awesome! It's FULL of information and very easy to navigate. Anything anyone could want to know is there and easy to follow. It's also beautifully designed, very soothing and pretty. My compliments to your web designer.

Our family had a wonderful time in your lovely town. The pony swim event was extremely organized and the volunteers were very friendly. This was our first time to attend the event and I hope we make it back real soon. My kids loved seeing the wild ponies and enjoyed the carnival. I even got to see dolphins swimming while we were at the beach. A terrific vacation for all. Trisha

We were in Chincoteague July 18 through 22. It was wonderful. Much, much better than going to Ocean City, MD, which we did for 2 1/2 hours. Loved the laid back atmosphere, trails on Assateague, Assateague National Shore. Just had a great time without being crowded.

I was eleven years old when my father went to fight in Vietnam and I came to Chincoteague to live with my grandfather Walter Watson of Maddox Blvd. I went to Chincoteague Elementary School for my sixth grade education in the fall of 1965. I lived on the island for a year before my dad returned and we moved to Fort Eustis, Va. and later moved to the Philadelphia area after he retired. What a wonderful place to live as a child or any age for that matter. Before my time is done I hope someday to return to live on the island and among the folks that that have made such a lasting heart felt impression on me.

I have been going to Chincoteague since the late 70's when I was a young girl. Now I take my family there and I absolutly love it. I am disappointed to see the old establishments closing and new condos/townhouses going up. Chincoteague does not need to become another Rehoboth or Ocean City. It needs to keep its charm and easy way of life and unique nature needs to be preserved.

In May of 1944 I was assigned to NAAS Chincoteague to learn to fly the PB4Y-1. I moved to the Island with my new bride and we rented a room from Mrs Davis and spent a wonderful three months there. We returned for a short visit about 20 years ago and found our home-away-from-home to be Miss Molly's Inn. My bride passed away a year ago but our lives were forever changed by the wonderful people of that community. I first came to Chincoteague in September, 1998 and fell in love with your island. I returned with a girl friend in October, 2002, again the end of May 2004 and brought two of my grandchildren the end of June 2004. It is an absolutely beautiful place, so peaceful and quiet. I could very easily live on Chincoteague Island and I know I will return soon. I wish I could afford to come more often, but I have to work, so my time is limited. I just read everything on this web site and it is fantastic, so complete and informative. As I said, I will be back.

We vacationed every year (1959-1969)from the time I was 8 until I left home. Stayed at Fisherman's Cove every year. It was owned at the time by a man name Ray Andrews who's wife's name was Fran. He would name all his personal boats Fran I, II, etc. I remember the last one I knew was Fran IV, just little 14 ft dingys. I hated that place, mosquitos everywhere, but now would love to see it. We did stay at Snug Harbor one year. It was a little nicer, FC was awful. Only thing I liked was clamming and going to the beach on the boat, past the oyster beds and canals. Actually there were good memories.

Family bought 30+ acres on Md. side of the border in 1930's.Born in 1943 have many interesting stories about Assateague in 50's and 60's.Family built a hunting lodge there in 39-called Green Run Lodge.Even had a small airport for the hunters to land their airplanes.Rember the guides and the cold early mornings all the hunters would start their days.Spent many a summer at Green Run with my cousins and aunt.Couple of scary storms and hurricans.Remember large herds of horses and cattle roaming all over the place, especially along the surf. They would get out in the surf because of so many mosquitos.I'm sixty now,but can remember the wind whistling thru the screens at the lodge.Water tasted terrible.Would gather conch shells by the burlap bags along the surf to resell on the Ocean City boardwalk. My cousins and I would explore new and exciting places when on Assateague.Even remember an old graveyard with 1700 wood grave markers. In 1960's Ackerman tried to develop Ocean Beach.Only way to get to Assateague from the mainland was an old three car ferry run by an old black guy named Popeye.Funny the things you remember.Would take the ferry over and walk the nine miles down to Green Run--along the surf.Foxes,Falcons, walk real slow and quietly thru the herds of horses and cattle, could see a jeep comming along the surf many miles away.Storm came up and I'll never forget going from sand dune to sand dune in waist high surf.Animals also up on the dunes.A wave would go by and we would walk/swim to the next dune.Didn't get down to the lodge till dark--I'll never forget that day.Aunt was glad to see us.She had been in contact with the family up in Ocean City--three longs and a short.Out AnnesleyJ@msn.com

I used to take my children to Chincoteague to see the pony swims when they were small. Now I take my grandkids. I love the area, the stores the beach, the wildlife. This year while bike riding around Assateague, two beautiful buck with huge antlers ran in front of us. What a thrill for my granddaughter who lives in Hbg., Pa. She saw several herds of deer and herds of the wild ponies. We spent almost every day at the beach. You have such a glorious area and something for everyone to see and do. Thank you

I have been coming to Chincoteague since I was 10, for almost 15 years now, and I wouldn't spend my hard-earned vacation time anywhere else! This was the one trip my parents made sure we all took together every year, and now that my siblings and I are older and no one's schedule is compatible any more, we each take our own vacations down to Chincoteague. My fiancé and I have been going for three years now and we plan to bring our children here. I love everything about this island! For me as a child, it was a magical place where ponies ran free, the beach stretched on forever, lighthouses winked out into the night, and my parents could truly be themselves (I realize now that this is due to something called “relaxation”). Now as an adult, Chincoteague is my summer home away from home, a place where I can go to relax and feel completely comfortable, a vacation spot that retains the magic I remember from my childhood! I am so glad my parents introduced me to this wonderful island. I have made uncountable memories here, and I look forward to making many more. There is no other place like Chincoteague, VA!

I look forward every year going to Chincoteague and to the Chincoteague wild life park (Assateague). The best thing is that I can fish in the ocean and go get crabs out of the bay. As a little boy I remember seeing my grandfather head out to sea and I remember my trips with him. My grandfather made a living bring clams oysters and other seafood in to sell but now days it is hard and almost impossible to do. Chincoteague has aloud me to hit the waters once more with him and it aloud me to do my dream. Hitting the waters once more with him has brought a close to my childhood things I did. I would like to be out on the water there, to make a living as he did through his life, but I know me doing that is one to none.

I have been to Chincoteague a few times, and every time I come I never want to leave. I am originally from NJ, and a former friend of mine from there introduced me to the most wonderful place in the world when she took me to the island for the first time. I grew up with my mom buying all the Chincotetague pony books for me to read and I feel like I am almost close friends with them. I even have a sketch I did of Misty from my old paperback book cover:) I have many fond memories of the things I have done and places I have visited on the island. I can't wait to share it with my husband this August on our vacation. I am sure I will have created a new fan of my most favorite place in the world:)

my parents have been coming to Chincoteauge and Assateauge for about 20 years. my first time was when I was 3 months old...and this year will be my 17th year(i've only missed one year because of health problems) the memories i have are all wonderful. i must say, this place is THE best vacation area ever. i can even remember when mr whippy's was just a little stand on the side of the road! even though the island has gone through many changes, the scenery, activities, and lodging are still great! i've made life long friends (will, erin, and lauren). both of our families have been staying at the holiday cottages for over 7 years and we happen to go the same time every single year! i hope to bring my kids here someday!! i love the site...and the pictures capture all the beauties of the island :) <>

My husband and I visited Chincoteague/Assateague this past October. It was our second visit and it will certainly not be our last. We find the town of Chincoteague very charming and the beach of Assateague so refreshingly pristine and undeveloped. I go for the seashells and the timing of our trip could not of been better. Our trip followed Hurricane Isabel and found many wonderful treasures on the beach. I walked almost to the point and found over 20 whelk shells. I felt very blessed!

This is GREAT. As a boy I spent my youth 1938-55 on Assateague @ Green Run Lodge, Md side. Remember a lot, Popes Island Station, Green Run Station, North Beach Station, Ferry over at South Point. Miss a lot, living on a small farm in Ar, but the sand in my shoes still reminds me of the Island.

Your website is absolutely the best Chamber of Commerce website I have visited. I routinely travel around the country and I always check for Chamber of Commerce websites to see what's available where I am travelling. It is sad to say that most cities and towns do not have any website, and none have been as nice as your website! Keep up the good work!

We're raising Chincoteague Ponies here in the Texas Hill Country. We claim bragging rights to having the first pure-bred Chincoteague Pony born in Texas. I cannot believe throughout all the years how many people owned land on the poor Island. I work at the campground, owned by the Maddoxs. I used to work at Gary Howard's seafood. All that land is owned by the owner's father. It is really unique.

I visited Chincoteague/Assateague about ten years ago while visiting my daughter who was living in Manassas, Virginia at that time. I loved the whole area and I can still remember the tasty stuffed flounder I had in the restaurant. Nothing like fresh caught fish. I hope to visit again, however, my daughter & family have been transferred back to Illinois so I don't know. I do some children's story writing and I have just completed a short story about your delightful part of Virginia.

We last visited Chincoteague in 2001 when our three older children, son-in-law, and our young granddaughter came for Pony Penning. We stayed at Sea Pines and had a marvelous time. With the exception of the ponies, the very best was seeing "MY" ocean again and watching 2 year old Kerrington build sandcastles and look for shells. Now when my granddaughter sees sandy beaches, she says it is Chincoteague (And it is "HER ocean".) We purchased "Chessie" from 1984 Pony Penning. Kerrington loves to feed her grain and even got to ride her. (Chessie had never been ridden before but was so gentle) Their family is going to FL this year and I imagine SHE will be in "Chincoteague" regardless of what they tell her. Have added a grandson (8Mo) and two stepgrandchildren to the mix and we ALL will be back to Chincoteague in a couple of years. Love your island.

Our family (us, 2 married children, and a baby grandson) spent Labor Day week in a beautiful house (Bay Colony). We had camped in Chincoteague for many years when the kids were growing up. This vacation was extra special, however, because I spent the winter, spring, and part of the summer in breast cancer treatment. Throughout those dark days I kept thinking that at the end of summer we'd all be together at Chincoteague!! It was great motivation at a difficult time. Well, our week together came and went in the blink of an eye.......but it was WONDERFUL! It was a week that I will never forget. The baby's first beach trip certainly got him "hooked". He loved the sand and the water; and was very fascinated with the birds. We, of course, loved relaxing and enjoying the great seafood and atmosphere. It was everything (and more) that I dreamed about during treatment. We are hoping to do the same next year. THANK YOU, CHINCOTEAGUE!!

My family and I first visited Chincoteague in the summer of 2001 and have been back five times since then. The island is a magical place where we experienced a sense of "coming home." We are avid birders and have enjoyed every season, including winter when we spent a week in February (2002). The birding then was especially fantastic; we had never seen so many snow geese. My only hope is that the development that seems to be happening by leaps and bounds will be curtailed so that the charm, the land and the beauty of Chincoteague will not be lost to more shopping centers, townhouses and condominiums.

I have not visited your website before, but it is great! We have attended the Oyster Festival for the past 7 years and we are looking forward to seeing all of our friends again. We love the Island, and enjoy our week of camping at Maddox very much. We always camp at Maddox the week prior to the Festival and this year we were very concerned about the effects of the recent hurricane. Thank you for your update on the very first page. We are very thankful no one (including the ponies) were hurt. We will see you soon, take care and God Bless.
