| Your involvement in our Chamber is not only beneficial
to your business, but to our county and state as well. Did you know that the county of
Accomack receives approximately 24% of their operating revenue through local taxes from
the tiny island of Chincoteague? One of our Chamber's basic functions is to create an awareness of the bountiful resources that are protected here on the islands of Chincoteague and Assateague, and to entice people to come and experience them. Our success (or failure) both directly and indirectly affect the quality of life for the residents of the Eastern Shore to some degree.
